Sailing L’Ametlla de Mar
Sailing south along the Costa Dorada from Tarragona we get to l’Ametlla de Mar, a picturesque working fishing village. This is not a marina but rather a working fishing port with spaces for yachts which gives it a very special feel of times gone by. Do not consider this a nostalgic image however, but catch a glimpse of a prosperous industry using a mixture of old and new fishing methods. You get a grandstand seat on the boat as you eat your breakfast of boats getting ready for sea and people mending nets etc. In the evening you see the boats racing in to get their catches to market and the auction takes place on the dockside.
