Some Frequently Asked Questions

Boat & Skipper - The boat you will use is fully licensed and complies with and has been certified to the very high international standards of MCA codification. The skipper is a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster and a qualified instructor. Whether or not you choose Spanish Sailing, you should always make sure that boat and skipper meet these requirements. It is your safety that is at stake.

Course Dates – We are able to be flexible with dates. The courses are modular and we are happy to construct the program around your experience and availability. Training can take place over single days or with longer sessions when you would sleep on board. For residential trips a minimum of 3 days is preferred although this is negotiable. We do not insist on keeping to Saturday to Saturday so you are ale to take advantage of cheap mid- week flights.  Don’t forget that Ryanair’s Reus airport is just 15 minutes away from the boat.

Sleeping Arrangements - The boat has 2 comfortable double sleeping cabins available for guests both with hot and cold running water. The prices below provide you with the whole boat i.e. you will not be asked to share with anyone you do not know. Sharing might be a way of keeping the cost to a minimum but from our experience we know there are many times it doesn’t work.

Extras - Bed linen and towels etc. are provided free of charge and we do not load up the price as seems to be the norm with lots of extras such as cleaning charges, deposits & skipper hire & subsistence.  All are included in the price

Program Registration - If you choose to register on the formal training program payable to the training body there is a 40€  initial charge to register on the program.

Catering - Breakfast is included in the price and we have a number of inexpensive packages to help you with

catering. It is a fact that keeping a boat stocked with food can be a chore when storage is limited, shops are often away from ports and when you would rather sitting back and enjoying a sundowner rather than hiking off to find a shop that still might be open.

How to book - A 10% deposit is all that is required to secure the dates with the balance due 6 weeks before the start of the course. The preferred method of payment is a bank transfer which can be made in UK sterling or Euros. We can also accept payment by credit card. To keep our costs down we need to make a 2.5% handling charge if you choose to pay by credit card but any currency is accepted.
