Training provided by Spanish Sailing follows the International Yacht Training (IYT) program & is particularly well-suited to the holiday environment.
Courses can be structured to cater for availability & existing experience.

THE TRAINING PROGRAM We work in conjunction with International Yacht Training www.iytworld.com who provide training from a complete beginner’s level right up to professional superyacht captain.
COURSE STRUCTURE The courses are completely modular which allows us to structure courses around your availability. They also allow us to take account of any existing experience & qualifications you might already have and maybe fast track you. The course structure means that you can decide on the intensity of the training you want to undertake allowing you to still have an enjoyable holiday but be able to go home with an internationally recognised qualifications.The time may be carried exclusively on board a boat or time can be spent in the classroom in our beautiful training centre in the hills of Catalonia.

Introduction to Yachting - Intended to be a fun single module of 1 day duration designed to introduce a beginner to the sport of Yachting.
International Crew – Introductory course, can be achieved by complete beginners in a week.
Flotilla Skipper - More experienced participants can achieve this within a week if appropriate. Existing experience can be assessed and taken into account.
International Certificate of Competence Students with suitable experience can put themselves forward to be assessed for the (ICC) which is an internationally recognised skipper’s certificate accepted by charter companies to satisfy government regulations or insurance company requirements.
Bareboat Skipper Certificate - Certificate of excellence for those candidates who wish to take command of their own or a charter yacht.
